Space · education and healthcare
Many people, and still quiet.
A classroom is full, a lecture hall fuller still, and a hospital room calls for calm and clean air. In all three, a lot of fresh air has to come in without anyone feeling or hearing it.
The challenge
- Many people per m², so a lot of air per m².
- Sound: a lesson or a conversation with a patient tolerates no hiss.
- Sports halls: high, and outlets that must withstand a ball.
- Healthcare: calm in the room, and outlets that do not stand out in the ceiling.
The approach
A different answer for each room.
Classroom
A broad wall outlet high in the wall, which can also be connected to a fan coil. The classroom example in the datasheet: 470 m³/h at approx. 33 dB(A) (BF-V, DS 4101 E p. 2, p. 4). From the ceiling: swirl diffusers for schools (DD-N, DS 1175 E p. 2).
Lecture hall
Step displacement from the riser, directly behind the seats (Q-SL, DS 4054 E p. 2) →
Sports hall
High, so adjustable (Peek’s rule of thumb: from about 3–3.5 m). The DD-VK is available with a ball-proof grille for sports halls (DS 1256 E p. 2).
Hospital, general
Swirl diffusers and discreet ceiling outlets (DD-N DS 1175 E p. 2; OC-Q DS 4136 p. 2), and linear diffusers in the ceiling (IN-V).
