Krantz Components

Since 1949

Three generations, one name in air.

Peek has been Krantz’s representative since 1949. It started with textile machinery and became a story about air. These are the moments that shaped the company.

  1. 1949

    Dirk Peek

    An agency for Krantz.

On 26 January 1949 Dirk Peek founds the company as an agency for Krantz textile machinery and Krantz Lufttechnik. In those years Peek mainly sells products for the textile industry.

That is where the bond with Krantz begins. It still holds.

  2. 1967

Peter Peek and the textile crisis

    A market that disappears.

Peter, Dirk’s son, studies Mechanical Engineering at TU Delft. In 1967 he joins the company and takes it over that same year.

Soon after, the Dutch textile industry collapses. Peter sells the fittings of textile mills to India and Pakistan. After that, little of the business is left, at Krantz too, its main supplier.

  3. The swirl diffuser

    The diffuser nobody understood.

Krantz still has two departments: one conditions the air in the textile mills, the other filters the polluted air in those same mills. Both become independent business units.

Peter is asked to sell air distribution components for Krantz Components. He takes on the representation and brings the swirl diffuser to the Netherlands. Krantz is regarded as its inventor. Consultants at the time see the round diffusers as “otherworldly cartwheels” (wereldvreemde karrenwielen).

Peter becomes a specialist in comfort air conditioning, with theatres and concert venues as his speciality.

  4. 2001

    Ruud Peek

    The third generation broadens.

Ruud Peek studied Economics in Maastricht and then worked for several years in IT and telecom. Since 2001 he has owned the family business.

Ruud broadens Peek. The first step is the Dutch representation of Krantz Filter- und Absperrsysteme (filter and shut-off systems), the second production division alongside Krantz Components. With it, Peek also supplies components for high containment: nuclear power stations and BSL-3 and BSL-4 laboratories.

The range grew. The way of working stayed the same: good components, with the knowledge to apply them well.

  5. Today

    Air you can see.

You can’t see air. So this site shows it: how it leaves a Krantz outlet, mixes and reaches the occupied zone.

Pia, Peek’s digital host, shows you around. Tell her about your space, and she will show you the Krantz components that fit.
