Air principle
From outlet to occupied zone.
At the outlet
The induction unit discharges about 25 % of the supply air above the panel and 75 % below it. That sets a lot of room air in motion. (DS 4170e 06.2024 p. 2)
In the room
The Coanda effect carries the air almost horizontally along the underside of the sail. The panel also cools and heats by radiation. (DS 4170 E p. 2)
Construction
A perforated ceiling plate with bonded aluminium contact profiles and a copper meander, carried by steel cross members. The induction unit is screwed to the plate; optional return grille and absorbers. (DS 4170 E p. 2–3)

Versions and sizes
Lengths from 1 to 6 m, widths from 800 to 1 350 mm.
1 000 … 6 000 mm × 800 – 1 350 mm × 50 mm (DS 4170e p. 3)
Versions
with supply air, or as recirculation version with fan (p. 2, p. 6)
Finish
powder-coated similar to RAL 9010 (satin), perforated, with fully bonded acoustic fleece (p. 3)
In the room
free-hanging below the ceiling, rigid or hinged (p. 2–3)
Applications
Where it belongs.
Offices, meeting rooms, foyers, exhibition spaces and libraries, at medium cooling loads (DS 4170 E p. 2).
When not: If no air function is needed and you want an exposed sail with higher radiant cooling, look at the SKS-5/3 (160 W/m² as chilled sail, DS 4105 E p. 2). For very high loads above an open ceiling the SKS-4/3-duo fits (216 W/m², DS 4143 E p. 2).
